If you wish to file for an exemption from participating in the HHCAHPS Survey for the CY2016 APU, you must submit a Participation Exemption Request (PER), by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.

Medicare-certified home health agencies (HHAs) that served 59 or fewer unduplicated patients who met HHCAHPS survey eligibility criteria from April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014 are eligible for an exemption from participating in the HHCAHPS Survey for the calendar year (CY) 2016 annual payment update (APU).

HHAs seeking an exemption from participating in the HHCAHPS Survey for the CY 2016 APU must provide a count of the number of patients served between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014 who met survey-eligibility criteria.
