CareStat expands its home health data to now include skilled nursing analytics to help hospitals build strong relationships with post-acute partners

CareStat, a software platform that connects post-acute providers with hospitals/ACO, has added reports and analytics to include data from Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs). The previous version of CareStat included data only from home health agency (HHA) partners. Now health systems can proactively manage both their SNF and HHA networks to facilitate more effective care planning, quality oversight, and total cost-of-care management.

SHP releases new PDGM feature: Unacceptable Diagnosis Alert

SHP is pleased to announce the release of a new Unacceptable Diagnosis Alert to help home health agencies prepare for coding requirement changes under PDGM. Come January 1st, 2020 primary diagnosis codes will be categorized as either “acceptable” or “unacceptable”. Our new alert will notify users whenever an unacceptable primary diagnosis code is entered. This will help agencies train their staff now to be ready for PDGM and avoid the delays and lost time associated with claim rejection and recoding.

SHP updates the Hospice Dashboard, including a new widget

SHP recently made improvements to the hospice portion of the Dashboard to include a new widget and two new preconfigured views that display quality measures for all of the same data types as the Hospice Scorecard, including: Provider, Case Manager, Team, Primary Diagnosis Category, and many more. Aside from the ability to group by all of our standard data types, the new widget can also be configured to report on all 22 of the HQRP and CAHPS quality measures available in our reporting.

SHP to adopt NHIA’s new Home Infusion Patient Satisfaction Survey

SHP is happy to adopt the new NHIA infusion industry standards to support the data initiative for patient outcome improvement. As a result, we will be replacing our existing proprietary home infusion patient satisfaction survey with the new survey, approved and issued by NHIA, for all our current and future customers. The adoption of the NHIA survey will allow home infusion pharmacies to compare their performance to a standardized national benchmark. This will be a great benefit to home infusion pharmacies as they work with referral sources and payers, and will aid their internal organizational efforts to improve performance.
